The new Tata Ace BS6 Mini Trucks were created to follow the Government of India’s new emission norms that aimed to reduce pollution. To keep our commitment to our customers and provide quality products that go beyond BS6 compliance, we have upgraded our vehicles Bumper to Bumper to add new features as well as improve the existing ones in our trucks.

Tata Ace trucks come in three variants — Diesel, CNG and a new Petrol variant as well. Here’s what to expect:

A more powerful engine is used in all three variants of the new BS6 trucks. The Diesel variant comes with a 2-cylinder, 700cc Naturally Aspirated DI Engine that offers an output of 14.7 kW@ 3600 RPM and torque of 45 NM @ 1800-2000 RPM. The Petrol variant comes with a Tata 275 Gasoline MPFI" BS-VI, 4-Stroke Water-Cooled Engine that offers an output of 22 kW@ 4000 RPM and torque of 55 NM @ 2500-3000 RPM. The CNG variant comes with a Water-Cooled, Multipoint Gas Injection 694cc CNG Engine that offers an output of 19.4 kW @ 4000 RPM and torque of 50 Nm @ 2500 RPM.

Clutch & Transmission

All three variants use a single plate dry friction diaphragm type clutch and 380 mm diameter steering with a mechanical, variable-ratio of 23.1 - 28.9:1. The Diesel and Petrol variants use a GBS 65-4/6.31 gearbox while the CNG variant consists of a GBS 65-5/5.6, 6-speed manual transmission gearbox with a sliding mesh for the reverse gear and Synchromesh for all the forward gears.

The front wheels come with C51 Caliper disc brakes while the rear wheels come with 200 mm x 30 mm (diameter) drum brakes. These brakes are easy to operate and offer better control across terrains.

The suspension is designed for better comfort, even on bumpy roads. While all three variants use a Parabolic Leaf Spring Suspension in the front, the Diesel and Petrol variants use a Semi-Elliptical Leaf Spring Suspension in the back. The CNG variant uses A Parabolic Leaf Spring Suspension in the rear as well. It also comes with a Hydraulic, double-acting Telescopic Type Shock Absorber that suppresses additional vibrations. With a high ground clearance of 160mm Tata Ace can take on any terrain graciously.

The new Tata Ace BS6 trucks come with 12-inch (diameter) 145 R 12 LT 8 PR tyres that can handle a variety of terrains.

As part of its Promise of 6, the Tata Ace BS6 trucks are designed to offer better performance offering a max speed of 70 km/ hour and better mileage. Expect a gradeability of up to 30% that’s designed for steep ghats. The Ace BS6 trucks have a fuel capacity of 30 Litres for Diesel, 26 Litres for Petrol and 70 Litres/ 12 kg for the CNG variants.

Along with these features, the new Tata Ace BS6 trucks also come with higher aggregate life, low maintenance and in turn, better profits.
